Freshman 15!

So before we all left for school we all heard about the freshmen 15. Some thing that was drilled in our heads, that you are going to get fat your first semesters in college. Is it because of all the freedoms we have at school? Being able to stay up as late as you want, and being able to eat dinner at any time of the night, even if its midnight? Even though we know it’s bad to eat so late in night but we may have class till late. Maybe we are jammed pack with work so we can’t eat at a reasonable hour. But there are so many more things that factor into this too. The stress that college brings to first year students is a lot more then most of us expected, which many of us have never experienced before. All of this leads to different things that don’t help our cause. The article says that cutting out little things could make a noticeable change. It said that the average change was about 174 calories. So cutting out a soda in the course of the day or cutting out a snack could make a significant change in your diet and may help you not gain the freshman 15. But we should all look past the freshman 15 and look down the road at real things to worry about. Sudden weight gain could cause our body more harm then we want to believe. Sudden weight gain could lead to diabetes, heart disease, and obesity and develop certain types of cancer. So this all could be dodged if you watch what you eat or cut out one thing a day could have a huge impact. If you’re a person with a lot of free time the gyms are open all day till 10 pm and the field house is free form 6:30 pm- 9:15 pm every night except on the weekends.
