Last blog... new one

My first college was very interesting looking back on it. Many emotions have changed throughout the semester, but on the point of me learning about my self is if I start the work earlier rather then later it gets done faster and better because I allow my self more time to actually work on it and it comes out better. So if I start my work when its given rather then later I do a better job on the assignment, and if I have a test I need to start my studying earlier rather then the night before. My biggest challenges by far this year is doing my work when its given, I cant procrastinate as much next semester and reach out for help if I need it. I have to learn to use my classmates to help me seeing that they’ll probably being going through the same troubles as me. I really didn’t use our class to help me besides the later part of the year when we started doing the anthropology papers. My biggest achievement is handing all my major projects in on time. When I have something that has to get done with a long deadline I like to get a head start and plan it out accordingly so I just don’t have to bust out all my work in the last couple of days of the assignment. This prevents me from handing in a poor quality of work. It also helped that my roommate and a few of my good friends are in the same class so since were all together most of the time we can break out a camera and do our projects and help each other out and get our work done. So to make this continue in the next semester we have some of the same classes to help each other in the classes for the next semester. My time management in this semester has been on and off, I’ll have my weeks when I’m off the ball and hand in stuff late. Most of my time has been put into my major because I have clinicals that I have to do in the athletic training room because the state of Connecticut requires a certain amount of hours for athletic training students so I have to make sure I have enough hours each semester to move on in the classes and majors. I wouldn’t say it has effected my other classes to much but I can see how when I get father in the class like my sophomore or junior year it could affect the other classes I’m taking because of how demanding the major is. My grades in my classes, I really don’t know what they are but I’ve learned a lot this semester, all the blogs have helped my writing because I have never been that strong of a writer so constantly writing very week three times has helped me a lot. The class that I have learned the most in is my exercise science class because before this year I didn’t have that much knowledge about any of the stuff we’ve been over besides the anatomy part of the class cause I took it in high school. I need to start looking over material because I never really did it in high school but that’s not going to work at college cause the material is so much more and more difficult. I hopefully met my goals on my grades but I won’t know till I get all my grades back but I feel that I did a good job in completing my goals. I’m happy where I’m at now in my studies and if my grades are lower then what I wanted I have a good feel on what I have to work on to get better grades next semester. I just need to sit down and study more then I do because I don’t really study that much as of now and that may be my downfall so I got to work on improving my studying skills. Well my goals for next semester is to get in the high 3’s on my gpa because I plan on leaving southern next fall to play football again to I want to see if I can get an academic scholarship to expand what schools I can go to. So that’s pretty much how I feel about my first semester, leaving toady was rough because I didn’t want to leave yet I had a great time this fall.

What will be missed?

I think we all got close because we had all the same problems and it gave us a sense of unity. It gave us a common cause for us to come together. In my other classes I don’t know all the kids in my class, never mind their names. I sit in the front of the class so I rarely turn around to talk to someone. No other of my classes use group activities in the class or circle up in the class and have a discussion with every one. It will only be a few kids in class that actually participate, so it didn’t have the feel of our two Tuesday and Thursday classes. So it was a nice relief from being the only one participating. So the thing that I’m going to miss the most it how close the class was because out of all my classes none were this close. It would have been the only class that I wouldn’t have felt awkward talking to one of the kids in the class to get help on a project or a paper. It allowed for a way of getting other opinions and help with all the anthropology work. Because we all had to work together to get the work done, class wouldn’t have been as easy if we didn’t work together. That’s what I will miss most is being able to discuss our class work together and help each other, we most likely won’t have the opportunity like this again to have a class as close as ours. It was something unique that we have had this opportunity to help each other grow. But maybe we will have some of the same classes together next semester to try and keep study groups together to help us through a tough class.

The long road

My ideal life after college would be working at job that would hopefully be paying for my graduate school. My goal is to be a licensed personal trainer and own my own gym. I want to do something that keeps me interested. I never want to get bored in life and keep life interesting. I just want to do some thing that I enjoy doing every day, and not be a person that doesn’t enjoy going to work everyday. I want to start a family and have my own house. Cause I want to be young enough to have kids at a young enough age to be able to have an active life and be able to have fun with them and not be an old man that can’t have active part in there life. I have some interest in joining the military and become apart of the rehabilitation program and become part of the physical therapy unit. Be able to help wounded veterans and help them get back to shape. Plus I would be able to get money for school and not have student loans when I get out. So I have a lot of options and thoughts that are going through my head that what I want to do now and do after school. But I defiantly don’t want to do anything that I wont enjoy and don’t want to get up every morning and frown on my way to work. I just want to get the most out of my life and be able to travel when I’m older to see the world and get the most of it. I just don’t want to look back on my life and not be happy, I just want to be able to say I’m happy with what I did with my life.

day of peace campus safari

This weeks campus safari me and my roommate went to the day of peace at the Lyman Hall Theater. It was put together by and inquiry group and there teacher. There were four times that they were having shows 3 pm, 5pm, 7:30pm, and 9pm. I went to the 9 pm show, which was there talent show. Their opening act was a zumba dance where they asked people in the audience to come up and dance and I they did you would get one of the shirts the class was wearing. The first act was a girl with hula hoops that were light up and she was very impressive then the had some people there that were singing. I didn’t take any photos because they had a sign on the door saying no photography.
